The car does not go up hill, especially on a snowy day. The car starts to die, does not matter if you crank up the gas pedal. The RPM gauge goes to 4000 RPM and the car does not move. The TC seems to be working, but I can get better tracking with the TC off. I have had this problem since I bought this car. The first time it happened in the flat road in a U-turn. I almost got killed. The car stopped and did not move. I kept turning the engine on-off in the middle of the busy road, until suddenly the car moved. It was very scary. I took the car to the dealer and they said that there wasn't anything wrong with car. Two weeks later it happened again. I took the car to the dealer and PAID them from own money to refresh the calibration. The guy refused to do, but I talked to the manager and he refreshed the calibration for me, after I paid them $88 to do the software update . However, the problem is still there. I put on a brand new set of tires, but no solution. Also, I lost my fuel economy, from 22MPG average to 17MPG average.
The engine power lost saga happened several times in the past, and again yesterday (Feb 11, 2010). I was going up hill (with a little bit of snow in the ground), the car moved very slow until it almost died. I played with the TC on-off, until I got the car in the top of hill. I have the engine at 4000RPM, and the car probably moving at 2 mph. I mean it TWO MPH!!! I do not know what to do anymore! Any suggestion! I do not think the lack of powerthas anything to do with the TC (traction control)!!!
