CarComplaints.com Notes: The Freestar was introduced in 2004, but it was essentially just a rebranded Windstar. While there was a redesign of the interior and exterior, the Freestar still inherited some of the design flaws of its predecessor.

Van leaking oil from a part that was to house an oil cooler assembly. Don't have the towing pacakge or the oil cooler assembly but the part that supports the assembly was leaking. Waterpump and timing cover had to be removed to get to part. Dealer broke crank shaft and tube and had to replace. Oil continued to leak. Had to take van back three times. Oil leak supposedly fixed but now I get check engine light p1336 relating to camshaft error and computer needs to relearn. Gas mileage is terrible.
