Shortly after taking delivery of my new car I noticed that there was a waffle type pattern that appeared in the rear hatch window. At first I thought it was a reflection from the panel that prevents people from seeing into the luggage area. It was bad enough that finally I decided to do something about it and discovered that it was not a reflection, it was a pattern in the glass itself or the safety liner embedded in the glass. I brought it to the attention of my dealer and they laughed it off. I brought this up repeatedly with different people and they all had one reaction, some other cars have this same defect so therefore it isn't a defect. Say what? If more than one vehicle has the same problem and that makes it normal, then how do we have recalls? No one so far has had an answer to that question. I'm still waiting. I contacted Ford Customer service on the internet and was treated just as rudely as the people I talked to in person. Finally I wrote to Ford's President/CEO and weeks later still no response. I simply can't understand why no one will take this problem seriously. When you're looking in the rear view mirror and your rear window has a pattern in it, it is extremely distracting. Not only that but when I go to trade this car in I will be penalized for the cost of replacing that window with one that is clear. How can these people get away with treating customers like this? Personally, and I have told everyone at Ford from every level that because of this I will never buy another Ford product. I'm 75 years old and have bought/leased more new cars than I care to admit in that time and I have never been treated so badly/rudely EVER!
There are other problems that I won't go into here and now but take my advice and don't buy a Ford, if you insist, then at least don't buy a Focus.
