The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission clutch had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance The approximate failure mileage was 81,000.

The contact pulled over to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle. The contact was able to drive home. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the clutch needed to be replaced; additionally, there was an issue with the fuel tank. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
