CarComplaints.com Notes: For the third year in a row, the 3rd generation Focus is experiencing massive transmission problems.
Most notably owners keep complaining about how there's bad hesitation and jerking when starting from a stop. This isn't the result of an old, worn out part. In fact, the average mileage it's reported to us is just over 15k miles.

For a couple of months now, when I drive at slower speeds (usually 15-25 mph) the transmission appears to grind when changing gears. From what I've read, Ford is claiming this is slipping of the transmission and is "normal" for the car. Brand new cars should not make noises like this. Glad I purchased an extended warranty from my credit union. Also, the passenger side window does not close as quickly as the other windows.
