CarComplaints.com Notes: For the third year in a row, the 3rd generation Focus is experiencing massive transmission problems.
Most notably owners keep complaining about how there's bad hesitation and jerking when starting from a stop. This isn't the result of an old, worn out part. In fact, the average mileage it's reported to us is just over 15k miles.
The radio pops with a loud static noise after a few minutes of being on. Then once it starts the popping, it will keep doing it even if the radio is turned off. Sometimes the screen interface becomes un-responsive as well and if you "turn it on" the screen will light up, but no information will show.
Radio would pop go off, then back on. Happened a few times. Then one day pop and now won't turn on at all. Looked a several ford forums and it seems to a common problem.
Just that the car is a little more than 2 years old and the radio was crackling & popping and it was very loud. I am an Uber driver part time and this was not only annoying but embarrassing. Is Ford going to fix this problem or am I going to be on the hoof for this. I just don't think a car that is relatively new should have this problem. Now I am driving in total silence.
