CarComplaints.com Notes: Ford changed a lot of things for its 3rd generation, just none of them were a good idea.
The transmission tends to hesitate and jerk when accelerating. The new electronically-driven power steering can fail suddenly and without warning. Even Ford's SYNC can be a headache. Actually, scratch that last one — it's always been a headache.
Got up in the morning to go to work, car was in garage, Wondered why the back window looked all frozen and ice covered that does not usually happen in the garage. Windshield looked fine. Turned on defroster and wiper. Wiper got stuck, hopped out to investigate and realized the rear window was shattered. The glass guy that did the repair said he had never seen a Focus. Got home and GOOGLED Ford Focus shattered glass and was surprised to find this site with many shatter events and very disappointed that FORD had not resolved this.
Rear window broke going into a car wash - Temp for the day was 89. presoak arch in the front of the wash which is a lite water mixture with chemical to clean the surface of the car. Dealership will not do anything, have video to show how it broke and everything. Not Happy
