CarComplaints.com Notes: Ford changed a lot of things for its 3rd generation, just none of them were a good idea.
The transmission tends to hesitate and jerk when accelerating. The new electronically-driven power steering can fail suddenly and without warning. Even Ford's SYNC can be a headache. Actually, scratch that last one — it's always been a headache.

I took my car in for a few issues. While I was there I figured I'd say something about the driver seat belt not retracting at all. Well after about a day and a half I get a call they tell me they fixed the sunroof and wiper. couldn't find the rattle. And they said the seat belt isn't covered under warranty. That should be covered. That's a safety issue. It doesn't retract. And I'm pretty sure it won't restrain me if I'm in an accident. $300 for a seat belt is steep. I won't pay for it. I have a ford extended warranty and it doesn't cover the seat belt. I know seat belts get worn out. Which is why they should have a lifetime warranty. It should at least be a recall. Because like I said it's a safety issue. And an annoyance when you slam you door and it doesn't close because your seat belt got caught in the door. I just don't understand why they don't address the issue. For now I will do the same thing I am doing about the rattle in the front end. Ignore it and turn up the radio.
