CarComplaints.com Notes: Ford changed a lot of things for its 3rd generation, just none of them were a good idea.
The transmission tends to hesitate and jerk when accelerating. The new electronically-driven power steering can fail suddenly and without warning. Even Ford's SYNC can be a headache. Actually, scratch that last one — it's always been a headache.

Well....I have been having this issue for quite a while. No biggie just call my mechanic and he will fix it. So.....after a while it will go back to doing what it originally does...Jerk while driving and/or{accelerating), and don't go a little below half a tank it will do the worst and just shut off in the middle of traffic. Lately it has been getting worse. Talk to different mechanics and they found no issues with the codes but..stated it was a fuel pump issue which I DOUBTED after I read this. Now I have a some crazy message like Check Engine Now and some other message that just started regarding ASSIST. I also was told it could be the battery, alternator, and other sensors all LIES. I So...I decided to look the issue up online and all the complaints were just the issues I was having and found out there was a recall on my vehicle. Explained it to the lady at the dealership and she is convinced that is not the issue... What I said to her was, then explain all the complaints that are similar to mine on your website including the recall she had no other words after that. Then she wanted to charge me a diagnostic which I told her I will not pay and explained to her I have a document from other well known shops that there was no issues until now. She insisted I was crazy and I asked for a manager whom fixed it and I was not charged at all. I also explained that I have missed days from work due to no vehicle. After 45 min to and hour I was compensated some but not all my money for my time. People thought I was crazy including my boyfriend but when he heard the issues from others he apologized and said I will help you get rid of the vehicle. This has been a nightmare and I want to just give the car up and never look back. I will NEVER EVER get another Ford vehicle AGAIN. Reading these comments helped ease my mind because I know I'm not the issue. I take care of my vehicle and this is just a crazy nightmare.
