CarComplaints.com Notes: You should probably steer clear of the 2012 Focus. Otherwise, you might not be able to steer at all.
The 2012 is the first Focus to offer Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS). It's also the first year with massive power steering failure. These things are not mutually exclusive.
And while you wait for your steering to disappear, you'll be greeted with a transmission that shudders, vibrates or won't shift at all.

driver's side rear window leaking
I've had this car in to the dealer twice while it was under the manufacturer's warranty and was told they couldn't find a problem. It's now developed stains on down the inside of the door so when I took it in to have the clutches replaced again late October 2016 I mentioned it again. (I took it to a different dealer this time.) Again I was told they couldn't find an issue and then insulted my intelligence by asking if I was sure I hadn't left the window open! Really? With permanent stains on the interior of the car? They also said it was outside of the warranty period so you could tell they weren't making much of an effort. I also discovered on my paper work from the previous dealer during the manufacturer's warranty period that there's no mention of this problem so it wasn't ever documented. This issue on top of the continued and ongoing transmission issues and poor customer service will definitely ensure that I will not be purchasing another Ford in the near future when I unload this piece of garbage. If I can add photos to this post later, I will.
