I have a Ford Focus 2010. I just purchased new Michelin tires. I could not see the top of the head on Lincoln when I tested my old tires (on the outside part) but decided to buy new tires prior to winter as recommended by the Ford dealer.
When they removed the tires we discovered that the inside of all 4 tires were VERY worn and wavy looking VERY dangerous!!! I just had an oil change at Koon Ford and they recommended I buy tires before winter but didn't tell me about the unusual wear! They've never acknowledged that the tires had excessive wear on the inside when I get the 30 point check! Also, they supposedly rotated them!
I see there's a class action lawsuit in Ca. but didn't see one in Maryland. I did see a lot of complaints that others had regarding uneven tire wear. The tires on my car should have been changed long ago but I was never informed of the excessive wear on the inside when the Ford dealer inspected the car!
I went to an independent mechanic and he thought there was a problem with the car that caused the uneven wear. He said there was only one tire that needed an alignment and it certainly wouldn't have caused 4 tires to wear out so excessively!!! I have an extended warranty on the car to 60,000 miles and will have to talk to the Ford dealer regarding this problem. I don't believe I will be satisfied with the results since they never told me or didn't even check the tires when I had it in for an oil change recently! I don't believe I can trust anything they do at this point!
