2009 Ford Focus paid in full. Under 100K miles, 95% highway miles. Well maintained, agreed by head mechanic at a reputable dealer that car is well taken cared of yet he thinks it was a freaked incident re: transmission.

PROBLEM: transmission blew while driving, towed to dealer, claim they can't fix within warranty so cost is $4-5K. I KNOW they will fix it and sell it used for approx. $10-12K. I am asking for at least $3-4K to trade it for one of their 2015 Fusion model. So far, they don't want to give me that. HELP!

CAS-5356244-B4X7C2 What kind of car needs a new automatic transmission with only 94,000kms on it and less than 3 months off its powertrain 5yr warranty? A Ford Focus that’s what. And FOC’s Supervisior for Customer Services response?! “Too bad, it’s off warranty”. The response when stated that Technical Service Bulletin TSB – 14-0002 is directly related to our diagnostic codes on transmission failure (P0751=00-EC and P0972=00-68), and that Ford knows this is an issue and not fixing it? - “TSB is not a recall.” Of course not who recalls to replace faulty transmissions in their cars?! There is a TSB because it is happening on multiple cars and the dealers need some clue on what to do with it.

The car was taken to Ford for Reg maintenance 6k ago, Ford does not even recommend transmission fluid flush until the car is at 240,000kms! Holy sh*t folks that's 3 Ford transmissions replaced in your car before you get to those kms! lol

Ford dealership GAVE US the technical service bulletin from Ford Canada on transmission failure in their cars Ford Canada refuses to acknowledge it. says a TSB to dealerships is not a recall- refuses to help with repairs - car has 94,000kms, no prior issues, dealership maintenance up to date and less then 3months off it's 5yr warranty cut off. Consumer reports has below issue (Nov 2014) on TSB's however Ford seems to be the exception. All mechanics we spoke to and reviews found online saying this is a common known problem in these cars, there is even an lawsuit in the US found online against them. Car is 2009 Ford Focus (automatic) purchased new.

We opened up a case (CAS-5356244-B4X7C2) but only got a rude supervisor call back, nothing at all to help with this situation, not even meeting us halfway on this, absolutely no budging on the matter. We are so frustrated, we just got married and are now putting our wedding gift money into a new transmission, and hoping it lasts (since we see all finds of reviews online of others having to replace their Ford transmissions multiple times). Thanks a lot Ford! Hyundia/Kia – 130k/8yr powertrain warranty sounds good right around now.

Okay, First We made the mistake of buying a Ford Focus. I have owned fifteen cars in the last twenty years! All dealer serviced, followed the service schedule to the letter. At 66,678 miles the Tranmission failed for no reason or warning! The Ford dealership said we need a new $4500.00 transmission and our Ford is 6,000 miles out of warranty! "How cute I said" staring out the dealership window looking across the street at the Toyota Dealership! Thinking why did I buy a crappy Ford??? So we called Ford's so called "Customer Care" They quoted by saying the transmission needs to be serviced every 25,000 miles! So bottom line Ford refused to help us! So we had a used Transmission installed at the Ford Dealership for $2500.00. So I could drive the car around to Toyota and Honda Dealerships to trade the blasted Ford Focus SES in on a new car MADE IN JAPAN!!!!

Let's see the total the investment I made in FORD. Car purchased used for $13,500.00 with 12,000 miles on it.

First repair: Steering Bar Assembly $1200.00 not covered by warranty. Bent rims from poor manufacturing $1200.00 including new set of tires and NOW A USED TRANSMISSION THAT HAS 81,000 MILES ON IT!!!! FOR A GRAND TOTAL $15,900.00. The new 2013 Toyota Corolla is $18,800.00. American Car companies produce the world's worst cars. STAY FROM GENERAL MOTORS CHRYSLER AND YES CRAPPY FORD. I am very proud to buy a car "Made in Japan". American Consumers demand value, quality, and safety for their very hard earned money!!! Makes me sick to see my money flushed down the can from UNION made cars!!!!
