Inner door handle part on drivers side broke, with that being the only door with a key lock and no remote on this vehicle not allowing entry into vehicle (was extreme cold and left stranded outside being a serious hazard). Very small metal part that was engaged from plastic outer housing was cast metal and broke easily, this is documented has happening often on many online forums.

This metal piece is under heavy strain, should have been designed from stamped/machined steel not cast metal. This is a major issue and Ford needs to recall this item.

My doors are constantly in need of repairs. It's either the door latches or the locks. At a funeral I had to have my mother, who is 79 years old, climb over the console to the drivers side to get out of the car. I've had other people do the same either climb to passenger or drivers side to get out of car. I'm tired of the excuses that it's the roads I live on. There are many, many cars here that don't have the problems I do with their doors. There are other ford focus here that have the same problem. Why can't ford use stronger materials that don't break. To me it's just another way to get more money out of you because you constantly have to get these repaired. My friend had to pay someone because she is not covered under warranty, that will be me soon, and I should not have to pay for a problem that is consistent. I have already been to the dealer ship for these same problems, door latches and locks so many times it's not funny.
