CarComplaints.com Notes: Even though the first model year of a major redesign should typically be avoided, Ford did a good job & the 2008 Ford Focus doesn't appear to have any major defects.
That said, the following model years of this 2nd generation Focus (2009-2011) do appear to be slightly better.

NO SPARE TIRE, WRENCH OR JACK, IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I DIDN'T REALIZE IT UNTIL A COUPLE MONTHS LATER, MY OWN STUPIDITY THERE. BY THE TIME I DID REALIZE IT WAS TOO LATE CAUSE THE SALESMAN NO LONGER WORKED THERE. IT'S MADE ME VERY AWARE AND I SPENT THE EXTRA $ TO BUY NEW TIRES WHEN I STILL HAD ANOTHER GOOD 10,000 MILES ON THE OTHERS BUT NOT WILLING TO RISK IT WHEN TRAVELING HOME TO TEXAS. I HAVE ROADSIDE SERVICE BUT WITH NO SPARE IT'S NOT MUCH GOOD UNLESS I JUST GET TOWED.
