Squeaking From Rear When Hitting Bumps
2008 Ford Focus
This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ford dealer.
CarComplaints.com Notes: Even though the first model year of a major redesign should typically be avoided, Ford did a good job & the 2008 Ford Focus doesn't appear to have any major defects.
That said, the following model years of this 2nd generation Focus (2009-2011) do appear to be slightly better.

2008 Ford Focus SE Sedan - 4spd auto , 2.0L 4cyl Vapor Silver - Bought new June 2008, Ontario Canada.
Our 2008 Ford Focus would squeak or clunk when going over speed bumps or sometimes just on sort of a wavy not perfectly straight road. You could definitely hear something in the suspension. That probably started happening spring 2011 (out of warranty) and the Suspension doesn't sag or anything.
The car hasn't been beaten, or run through any big potholes, or driven fast over train tracks or speed bumps. I slow down , straddle or avoid them.
This problem persists even in 2015. Doesn't matter if it's cold or warm out. It squeaks and rattles in the suspension or body/frame of the car when these scenarios arise.
The car had rust proofing when new form the dealer when new. We still take it in every 2 years to the dealer to keep up with the rust warranty , but in 2013 i decided to get it oil sprayed somewhere else as well for extra protection....(KROWN) you'd think with that extra oil it would maybe quiet the creak/squeak noise.
Nope it doesn't. I think it's just ford didn't design the chasis rigid enough or cheap factory shocks.
But look on CarComplaints.com you see a lot of people complaining about it (they have it named under different categories, but the same complaint)
It's a little embarrassing when you have passengers in the car and they are like " hey why is your car making noise?" oh it's fine it just does that, had it in for safety inspection and everything is ok. Just how Ford Made it.
Update from Feb 16, 2015: I forgot to add. The Car as of Feb 2015 has 46,500km on it. The 2008 Ford Focus was a poorly made car. Hopefully the engine and transmission will hold up better than the rest of the car.
