CarComplaints.com Notes: Even though the first model year of a major redesign should typically be avoided, Ford did a good job & the 2008 Ford Focus doesn't appear to have any major defects.
That said, the following model years of this 2nd generation Focus (2009-2011) do appear to be slightly better.

At 1100 miles I noticed that when I filled the gas tank up the fuel gage would only go to the 3 quarter mark. I drove to the dealer and showed the service department the fuel level was incorrect. no trouble light showed up until 2100 miles. I checked the codes and found out that there was a fault in the fuel level circuit. I contacted my dealership service department with my findings they were unhappy I had scanned my own car trouble codes but agreed to order the part and contact me when it arrived to set up a appointment for repair. I hope it doesn't cost me anything you never know with Ford!. The faulty fuel sensor doesn't seem to affect the running of the car so I guess its not a hardship but its annoying having to see a lit trouble light on a new car!
