This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ford dealer.
CarComplaints.com Notes: Even though the first model year of a major redesign should typically be avoided, Ford did a good job & the 2008 Ford Focus doesn't appear to have any major defects.
That said, the following model years of this 2nd generation Focus (2009-2011) do appear to be slightly better.

We bought the car new & at the first oil change @ the Ford Dealer they told us they had tested it for a leak and found there was water leaking in the trunk.
We had not yet noticed at that point as it wasn't a rainy time of year.
Thankfully they caught it when they did. Was covered under warranty.
But still makes you wonder how a new car could have that issue.
