CarComplaints.com Notes: Even though the first model year of a major redesign should typically be avoided, Ford did a good job & the 2008 Ford Focus doesn't appear to have any major defects.
That said, the following model years of this 2nd generation Focus (2009-2011) do appear to be slightly better.

This is very aggravating especially when it is icy and you have to slow down in traffic and your defroster blows cold air and now your windshield is starting to freeze up and you can't see. The only way I can fix this is to put the car in neutral and rev the engine a little to make the heat work.
When I am driving along the heat/defroster works OK. It's when I slow down in traffic or when I have to stop at a traffic light. I had a new thermostat put in but this did not fix the problem. All hoses were checked to see if there was a blockage of some kind. Can you help me?
