I noticed the paintwork starting to rust on the inside bottom of the door so i took the car to holiways ford in newton aycliffe county durham to have it checked out. They said that because the service book did not have the relevant paintwork inspection stamp the the warranty was null and void. the car was serviced by holiways at the end of february and the paint check was due in march but holiways neglected to check the paintwork claiming that i should have requested it. How many people know that they must request that the dealer inspects the paintwork or the warranty is void. I rang ford customer services and they confirmed that it is up to the customer to request a paintwork check ! So I would respectfully advise theMOTORING WORLD- DO NOT BUY A FORD BECAUSE FORD CANNOT GUARANTEE THE PAINTWORK FOR MORE THAN 3 YEARS AND THE 12 YEAR PAINTWORK WARRANTEE IS NOT WORTH THE PAPER ITS WRITTEN ON.
