My son bought this car used from an individual-paid 6000.00 in 2008-this is a great handling car-but its had a lot of problems-from tire wear-electrical etc-now the clutch and possibly the transmission need replacing. The estimated cost is about $3500-$4000.00.

I noticed that this model year 2002-these cars were produced in Mexico-so much for outsourcing.!!So whats the solution-get it fixed or get rid of it?Its woth about 4000.00 if its running prpoerly-or lease or buy another car-more debt.?

Would appreciate any comments from readers who might have some suggestions. Thanks

Two ford vehicles, never again will I purchase a ford . I tell all my friends and familyabout it as well.I bought american, but let me tell you what a let down. Like I said never again. Since the beginning this little ford focus was a pain in the ass, first the sound system died, and this was one of the most expensive ones they add, you know the one with the hookup in the trunk, piece of sh*t, wanted to replace it but they gave me such a run around until the warranty ran out. So I believe all of you who mention that little detail, The Run Around. It happens all the time.Once they have your money the hell with you. then the suspension, then the tranny. never again I say, I will buy foreign. What happened to Ford built tuff. bull sh*t.

I had problems with the tran. the whole time i had the car. When it was under warr. i took it in three different times to two different dealers. They both told me nothing was wrong. Well life went on then one day bang @#$% $%^^ no more trans. The trans. could not be re-built it had to be totally replaced. The gears or the crap on the inside was one whole piece could not be re-built had to buy new. I have a friend that had the same problem with the trans. around the same mileage. When i took the car back to the dealer to have it fixed the guy who sold me the car told me that ford was having a really big problem with that years trans. and that the 2003 had a special warr. just for that (i don't know if thats ture cause all car sales men are ^%$& sucking liars) I still have the car still have to take the car in about every few months for trans leaks and the damn engine light will never stay off since the trans fix. WILL NEVER EVER BUY A FORD AGAIN AND WILL NEVER TELL ANYONE TO BUY ONE!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm trying to understand how the hell a car that does not have over 70,000 miles have a major problem with no help from the maker of the car. Ford stated that they could not repair the vehicle.
