The steering wheel had a knocking sound. There was a recall on the battery cable, and the pinch bolt has caused a lot of problems. (the problem still exists) the vehicle will knock when turned to the left. The front axle bearings were damaged along with the seal. The battery cables had a short circuit and the cables still have a corrosion problem. The vehicle stalled while driving, the steering wheel locked, and when the vehicle is turned off, it won't start, you must allow to cool down. The consumer felt that this is a fire hazard/recall #02V288000 scc

Vehicle has been in multiple dealerships, in tx and in ar and still nothing has been fixed. The suspension had been replaced due to bent struts faulty shocks. The brakes have been redone on 4 seperate occassions and still squeal and grind. The transmission lasted 6 months this time and is being replaced as I type. There is a wierd metal noise coming from the from right side on acceleration. All of the recalls have been completed. Did have a burning smell which the dealership could not duplicate. Excessive wind noise from the driver side window. Which the dealership blames on aftermarket wiring. Which would have nothing to do with the wind noise. The car now sways on the freeway as if the wind is pushing the car around when there is no wind. Everyone that we speak to cannot help me. The people will pull the car up on oasis and that make comments like "oh my god" and "I have never seen any focuses with this many problems" I was a loyal Ford person. I own numerous Ford. Including a 94 cobra, 97 Expedition, 86 svo, 67 GT390, and numerous others and this is very discouraging. The fuel pump has been replaced and on a recent trip I had to do 3 tuneups on the car just to get where I was going. Oil was leaking into the spark plug holes from somewhere. The car surges to no end. It is just unbelievable. The car has been to various dealerships and mechanic shops 20+ times and is still messed up. I am just glad I got the 100K mile warranty. I would like Ford to buy me out of this piece. I cannot afford to trade it in. My girlfriend is a ft student. So we are surviving on my income alone. Any help would be appreciated

Since this car was bought new off the showroom floor, we have had suspension problems. We have had the tires replaced 7 times now and will soon have to have them replaced again due to severe tire wear. Alignment has been suspect at all tire changes and warranty has been voided on 3 sets of tires due to misalignment. Alignment has been done several times by Ford and by private shops. Alignment was even set out of spec. By friendship Ford (bristol tn) to correct the problem of severe tire wear. To my knowledge, if a vehicle has to be set out of spec. To correct a problem, there is something wrong with the car in the first place. We were told however, by rusty wallace Ford (newport tn) that our driving habits were just too rough and they proceded to tell me how to drive. I do not race the car or drive like a maniac and shouldnt have to drive 25mph to avoid replacing tires every 20000 miles. I have since had to replace the left rear wheel bearing that locked up also ruining the spindle, and rear brake pads due to the brakes on the left rear wheel locking up. It seems sort of questionable to me that I have had so much trouble out of that one wheel, the same one that was recalled due to the slight problem of it coming off the car. My mother and I own an inventory service and drive the car as many as 3000 miles a month and sometimes more, so our warranty was used up quickly and all of our problems other than the tires have come after the warranty ended. I do not have a problem with spending money to repair our vehicle as I know nothing lasts forever, but some of these problems are glaring and Ford seems to be looking over them. Please investigate the problems with the brakes tires as I have found that I am but one of many with problems with this Ford product. I have found a website that you may want to look into.....www.fordfocusbrakeproblems.com. please take a look and I believe you will agree this needs to be looked into. Thanks.
