I was driving my Ford Focus & the front coil spring broke while I was driving the front end of the car collapsed on the front tire. I was driving 65 miles and hour seconds before I fortunately slowed down to a stop...noticed a noise like a flat tire, something did not feel right just before it collapsed on the road, I again thank god, I decided to turn around to go back home & immediately upon that turn around the car collapsed. These recalls safety campaigns are risking my life, but terrifies me for my newly driving son behind the wheel. As if that is not bad enough, I now have to file this complaint also. Electrical system ignition---unable to remove key....car was unable to be towed car locked up..steering everything. Cost of repair was quoted from $382 from Ford service dealer...meanwhile the huge inconvenience car parking fees..for being in a public parking lot.

I received a notice from Ford program 03N01 possible engine stalling in my 2000 Focus. It says the engine may stall while going around corners because of a defective fuel pump filter. My car did stall out on the highway while taking a right on a highway off ramp. When I took my vehicle down to my local Ford dealership, I was told that since my car had a "branded" or repaired title, I was not eligible for the repair. I then connected Ford directly through their website. I receive a call a few days later and they still stated that they could not repair the vehicle for me. I made a point to tell them that the damage to the vehicle occurred in the front, far away from the fuel pump filter in the gas tank in the rear of the vehicle. They said only recalls with a S in them, for safety, can be done on repaired vehicles. I and most people would think that a car stalling on the highway because of a defect part is considered a safety issue. I am disputing the fact that this recall should be considered an N recall instead of an S. I had a recall repair preformed on the car a couple months ago. I think it my have had something to do with rerouting the battery cable. How can the possibility of a fire be a greater risk than a car that actually stalls on the highway? I do not understand who designates the type of recall that a particular problem is categorized as and why they made this one a N and not an S recall. Just because a car has a repaired title and had been inspected as safe for the road by the state of New York does not mean that its driver should be discriminated against and not allowed to have repairs made that can prevent possible accidents and injuries. Also, I personally made the repairs to the vehicle and brought it through inspection. I have pictures showing every repair made and they do not involve any repairs in the rear of the vehicle.

The fuel pump failed while going uphill while low on gas. I added 2 gallons of gas and this made it 1/4 tank, but it failed to start. I coasted to a repair shop and called East hills Ford and was told that they did not have a fuel pump in stock. The repair shop found one and I had the car repaired.

I have upon more than one occasion had my 2000 Ford Focus ZX3 stall and or die on me. This happens mostly on on-ramp and off-ramp situations, many times the car will shut down while entering the highway at 40+ mph this is a serious situation, stalling without warning will one day get me killed. Just as well, I had the car at Ford to discuss the situation, they said nothing was wrong and sent me on my way. I am still having issues with this stalling and stumbling, and would like some kind of recall or tsb put out. I think Ford should replace all of our fuel tanks and fuel pumps. To this date I know of 5 other Focus owners, both sedan and coupe (ZX3) which I own, have had these same problems.

Ford Focus 2000-- gas tank gets to below a quarter of a tank of gas it lunges and jerks. This is the 2nd time it has happened. I read many incidents of this happening. This should be a recall on this automobile.

I have had my car for one year and five months. I have replaced the fuel pump a month after purchase, twice within two months. My gas lines have fallen off the car, causing the neighborhood to be filled with fumes. Stalls while driving, not matter the speed, dealership said they fixed the issue, still ongoing. Car hesistates to go at times. Often the inside of the car smells like gas. Hard to put car in reverse and other gears, often pops out of gear. Recently replaced clutch cable, tech says the clutch is fine. Replaced the brakes and rotors after being told they were fine, two weeks later the rotors were gone. Brakes continue to squeak. Windshield is not sealed, you can hear air blowing in while driving. Had a burning smell from under hood was told there was no problem, only to get a recall, and my cables were melted. Brake lights always out, when I replace one the other goes out. I have contacted Ford Motor Company, and dealership, both tell me I have to keep getting repairs. I asked Ford Motor Company to buy the car back, and they refused. I feel this car is not safe, I hate driving it.

Consumer called complaining about having fuel pump problems. Stated that has contacted the dealer, and the dealer stated that they had a problem with that on some vewhicles, but thee was no recall. So consumer would have to pay for the repairs out of his own pocket.

While driving on a rural rood at approx. 6:00 am the vehicle stopped running and left me stranded in the middle of the road. This occurred during a rain/sleet storm and put me in extream danger. The car was towed to fairfield Ford, fairfield, oh and repaired. I was told that the problem was caused by a broken wire in the control module for the fuel pump. Although this vehicle is 3 years old it only has about 7,000 miles on it.
