This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.

My car stalls out. Sometimes without warning, sometimes with an extreme hesitation warning. I took it in for service which I supposed oxygen sensor malfunction was the problem. But 2 weeks after that I experienced the exact same problem. My first incident was about a year after getting the car, the second about 6 months after that. But now that the car is 3 1/2 years old it's gotten much worse. (I completed incident date with a guess of the first time - but as above there are many incidents). In one trip, I had to pull of the road 3 times.
My Ford Focus engine cuts off with out any notice. I felt very unsafe in this car. The dealership cannot fix the problem. Somebody has to do something about this car before people start getting killed for driving this car. The government should to step-in, because Ford is not doing anything about this problem. I see a lot complaints about this car. In I'm sure there will be plenty more.
My 2000 Focus stalled out several times during the summer of 2002. It stopped when I bought a new battery. No problems during the cooler months. I took it in for the battery cabel recall a few months ago and all was fine. Now that the temperatures are hot again here in AZ, the car has started to stall out again. It totally died while driving in traffic! after the stalling in traffic, I had to let it sit for a few minutes and then I got it started enough to pull over onto the shoulder. I had to pull over about 3 more times before I made it home. I had to turn the A/C off or it would have stalled even more. This happens almost every day if I'm driving in the afternoon in town. This has been going on for about 2 weeks so far!
Have had very discerning trouble with 2000 Ford Focus. Things previously fixed are still not working properly. I have had the car since late 2000, and it has been in the service dept. More than I have been able to enjoy it.
The vehicle stalled intermittently, the dealer diagnosed the problem as a defective module, which caused electrical problems. The odometer/speedometer had shutdown, the trunk opened, the keyless entry is inoperative and sometime the passenger(s) get stuck in the vehicle due to the faulty locks. Scc
