The car started intermittently not locking with the remote, but the car sensed the door was open and it wouldn't set the alarm. The dealer wouldn't look at it because it didn't happen all of the time. I had an extended warranty. (I had videos and pictures) Then it started giving the Door Ajar warning/Transmission Not In Park when I would get in the car to drive. Opening and closing the door 3-20 times repeatedly would "fix" it. The dealer would still not try to fix it.
I took the car back a third time and the dealer finally saw the problem, but this time said it was out of warranty and would cost me $300+ to fix. I didn't have the cash. Now the Door Ajar light stays on constantly. Every time I come to a stop it chimes five times letting me know the door is ajar and the transmission is not in park. The alarm can no longer be set when leaving the vehicle. The doors never lock when driving. Is this even safe? I see there was a lawsuit about this issue. Did anything ever come of it?
