The contact was informed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 15V340000 (steering) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. The consumer traded in the vehicle due to the defect.
