My wife and I bought our Ford Fiesta 1.5L S hatch automatic last May 2015. Everything seemed well until 2 months after. The car manifested shuddering on moderate accelerations. We also noticed the noisy and seemingly unintelligent shifting of our car. We immediately brought our car to a nearby Ford Service center. They told us that it was normal and that it only needed updating of the tcm software. For awhile, the shuddering was not felt after the update. 3 days after, the shuddering came back. Another Ford Service center in BGC told me the same...that it was normal for a dual, dry clutch system. So, i ignored the shuddering believing it was normal.
1 year after, the car showed this "engine check" sign. The shuddering was terrible and the rpm was high! The Ford Service Center just "remapped" the tcm and sent us home. After another year of ignoring the shuddering, here came the "check engine sign" again. This remapping or updating of the software went on several times for another year until finally the Ford Service Center Cainta decided to replace the tcm. 1 week after the tcm had been replaced, the same problem appeared. The Ford did another replacement. This time it was the clutch assembly. After a few days from the release, the same problem the check engine sign appeared again. This time the rpm was really high and the shifting was wild.
At present, the Fiesta is in Ford Cainta. They say shifting forks will have to be replaced. Upon checking the Ford Fiesta Phil forum, there were numerous complaints of the same problem.
I felt so frustrated and unfortunate buying this car! I hope Ford Philippines will redeem themselves by standing to their shortcomings and recall or refund us our hard-earned money!
