This is the first complaint I've ever made about any product or service in three years (it was a smoothie shack, long story). That's how pissed I am at Ford. I broke down on the 202 here in AZ on the way to work. My transmission "malfunctioned" and the vehicle was completely disabled. Luckily, I have AAA and a tow truck took me to the dealer where I purchased the car. I took it to the dealer because I had talked to them the day before about a severe shuddering between 2nd and 3rd gear. They had mentioned that there was a recall but only on the transmission module. If it was the clutch or anything else I was SOL. Keep in mind, I only have 88,000 miles on my car. I'm not a mechanic and certainly not an engineer, however, I'm pretty sure a car shouldn't go a mere 88k miles and then the transmission experiences catastrophic issues. I called the service department 30 minutes ago to get an update on my car and they mentioned the issue with the transmission was not under the recall. I will need a complete transmission replacement and they want me to pay $4,800. HA! My family and I bought 4 cars from Ford. There's no way! I came on here and was relieved to see many Fiesta owners have experienced the same issue. I've never filed a lawsuit before but I'm thinking I don't have a choice. I'm a nice hard working guy and I'm all about accountability. However, I've babied this car and Ford needs to step up. There is no reason it should be completely inoperable and need this level of repair. Thanks for hearing me out and for creating a forum to let off some steam, CarComplaints.com!!
