A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

I have been having trouble with the car from the first day we had it. There has been a noise that sounds to me like a bad throwout bearing but it only does it once in awhile. Well about a month ago, maybe more, it started to shutter when in first gear or when hitting the gas to get around someone. The service department at the Ford dealer said they have been getting this complaint and that the computer needed to be re-programed but it might not fix the problem. It would seem there is a problem but not really a fix.

The car was much worse the next few days but started to clear up after about a week, ( I was told it could take as long as 500 miles to go away, maybe ) but while it has gotten better it is still shuttering like it did before I took it in to be serviced. I am very disappointed. Otherwise the car is fine.

Update from Aug 13, 2015: Well the car got fixed but only after 4 trips to the dealer and while the car was ok for awhile it has started to give trouble again. At just over 36,000 miles the transmission clanks, shakes, hesitates in first and generally makes allot of noise. After writing Ford about it they sent a letter saying they would extend the warranty on the transmission to 100,000 miles but after knowing this has been a problem for so long they should have done something about it a few years ago. I guess I should say the "fix" was to change out the clutch but like I said it only helped for a short while.

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,000 miles

Hello I bought a new ford fiesta 2013 se with an auto transmission so I thought !!!!!!!! I paid over $ 1000 for an upgrade to an (auto transmission) remember this later >>>>> 3000 miles into this adventure the car was jumping from gear to gear 1st 2nd area the rest were fine then coming to a stop became a nightmare car don't down shift makes brakes work harder and glaze over its now at 7000 miles and the trans is leaking rear main seal is leaking note this was not disclosed when I bought it HUM! it reads as fallows( this car u have bought has the Power shift trans power shift is an advanced automatic transmission technology the power shift is like two 3- speeds manual transmissions put together with the duel clutches and shifting components controlled electronically. Since most of the components are diverted from a manual transmission, the power shift transmission WILL DRIVE,SOUND, and FEEL LIKE A MANUAL TRANMISISSION, BUT WITHOUT THE DRIVER INTERACTION) Helloo,,, if I would of wanted a manual transmission, I would have got one. This has been going on since 2010 from my research, there is thousands of complaints about this transmission, it is a joke. I paid for a automatic transmission and that is what I expect no more, no less. I paid 21,000 dollars for this car, my confidence and expectations for Ford were much higher. I don't know how many deaths or accidents it will take to correct this problem, this power transmission is a death trap. I am hoping that people will read this, and together as fiesta owners we can go after Ford to correct this problem. It is not only uncomfortable to drive, it is a safety issue. I foresee a recall on this transmission in the future, come on Ford do the right thing, this is your reputation. We are now reaching new levels of technology, the sky is the limit, and Ford is going backwards. It's time to face the music Ford, the seat is hot. If you want my business in the future, face the music. It's okay to make mistakes, fix it. i am scared to drive this car now what a shame
