Twice in the past year, I have been behind a truck that slammed on brakes and my Ford Fiesta 2012 was not able to stop (though I'm slamming on brakes) before I ran into the back of the truck. The second time the accident occurred smoke filled the inside of the car. The air bag never went off in either accident. When the accidents occurred, there were a lot of traffic and I was driving about 35-40 mph. I never stay on someone else's tail and I believe I was two car lengths from the truck. I received a citation "failure to control speed" from an officer assuming I was travelling too close. I'm suspicious of the brakes because I've never had a problem with running into cars before I owned the Ford Fiesta 2012.
