This vehicle has had consistent transmission shudder and engine rattle upon acceleration which affects the the initial acceleration of the car. The sporadic delay in initial acceleration has been an ongoing safety concern. Most recently the vehicle almost stalled completely after beginning to accelerate into a merge. There was a few second delay in any movement or power to the car. Luckily there was no one coming at the time or this vehicle malfunction would have caused a serious accident. My car has been in to a Ford service center 5 times for this complaint and it is still not resolved. I am also concerned that Ford knowingly replaced the clutch and seals in my car with malfunctioning parts. Apparently newly engineered parts were produced as a patch for this issue. Either the old parts were used to fix my car, which would be quite an egregious safety issue, or the newly engineered parts are still malfunctioning. Either way I do not feel that my Ford Fiesta is safe to be on the road and Ford has not adequately address this issue to resolve the matter.

2012 Ford Fiesta: Purchased 12/4/12 original owner! have had my vehicle in several times for transmission concerns since my I purchase of the vehicle. Took it to the dealer I purchased it with, they told me nothing about the awareness of the transmission issues. In fact I ran into the salesman who stated he just found out himself and is he had known he would not advised the purchase of this vehicle. Since they had been repairing the transmission/clutch with no cost out of my pocket, I continued to have them repair the transmission. But, I have now spent more time back and forth between the dealer and having to leave my car for diagnoses and repair work and it is getting very old. Not to say what this does for the resale of the vehicle. The repairs for the transmission/clutch have been endless, replacing seals, reprogramming computers etc etc. I have been into the dealer five (5) occasions for the same issue, with some occasions having to leave the car with the dealer for days (parts were back ordered). Clearly Ford was not initially willing to acknowledge the issue until most recently, the dealer now states the symptoms from the transmission are a common occurrence with a 6 speed auto & dual clutch. Repair work on transmission: Date, mileage, repairs thus far: 5/03/13: 9,659: Reprogramming, adaptive learning 7/11/13: 13,193: Ids updated, reset adaptive learning 10/29/13: 19,945: Clutch assembly, seals, gaskets replaced, transmission assistance programming 5/21/14: 33,062: Replaced output shaft: Seal asy., bearing asy., clutch asy. Etc etc. 10/7/14: 42,757: Power control, transmission control and computer updates. 11/22: Called Ford dealer service: Reported the transmission/clutch [problems continue. Their response was the shuttering and hesitations are normal transmission operation, can bring to dealer for additional diagnoses, if I felt so inclined.

Passenger rear door latch broke. All I did was unlock the door and now it will not close. Have to have a cord across the back seat to hold it shut! there needs to be a recall on this immediately! I should not have to spend $250 on this defect that Ford screwed up!

I was loading items into my backseat after vacation in the back right door and went to shut the door when it bounced back. It was not locking at all. I have had this vehicle since January and have maybe opened the back doors 20 times a piece as I drive alone 90% of the time and with my significant other who sits in the front seat the other 10% of the time. We tried to fiddle with the latching mechanism, but no combination of adjusting the latch would yield closure. We eventually settled on taking a taxi to the hardware store and getting 2 bungee cords to hold the door shut on our drive back home. The current issue is that my dome lights will not turn off and I fear for my battery in the time it will take me to get to the dealership. My car is still under manufacturer's warranty at 29,500 miles so I'm hopeful that they will fix this issue for me promptly. Otherwise, it was an unnecessary cost and safety hazard for a car I purchased 8 months ago.

My right rear door that is hardly ever used will not close due to the latch. I was 200 miles from home and it was labor day weekend so couldn't get to dealership. Had to buy a bungee cord to secure the door from the inside and it still opened slightly going around curves and backseat items almost fell out. My vehicle is a little over 2 years old but due to my job of driving frequently (driving children) I am well past the 36K warranty and will have to pay to fix this. Since I can't afford at the moment the battery needs to be disconnected since the lights stay on and the doors remain unlocked. This clearly needs to be addressed after so many complaints.

The transmission in my 2012 Ford Fiesta seems faulty. When driving the car I do not feel safe and at times feel like the car "has a mind of its own". there are times when I try to slow down when coming to a stop light, etc. And the car surges forward as the RPM dial spikes. There are other times when trying to change lanes or pull out of the street and I need to accelerate quickly the car will not accelerate as I should, putting me in the path of an oncoming car. While going a consistent speed on a straight road the car will jerk, as if I'm adjusting a manual transmission. I've brought the car to Ford and was told this was "normal" for the car. It seems that myself and others are having this issue and how it has not been deemed a safety issue with repercussion of a recall is beyond me.
