Just got word from Ford that the thermostat housing had failed which caused the engine to blow. Lo and behold the 3 yr warranty expired on May 25 yet I broke down on June 25 - 1 month after the warranty expired! As a result the engine repair is not covered and will cost $9800 - more than the value of the car! To make matters worse the thermostat was covered under the 5 yr powertrain warranty but the thermostat housing was not.... grrrrrrrr!
