Death wobble: while driving approximately 60 MPH over a bridge and construction zone over rough pavement the steering oscillated rapidly and I drifted into another lane applied the brakes causing other vehicles to swerve and emergency brake. This occurred [XXX] in Denver Colorado.
Driving down the highway at a speed of 70, truck began to vibrate uncontrollably changed lanes. Continue to vibrate uncontrollably in the front of the truck. Pulled safely to side of road. Expected to see flat tires. No flat tires. Turn truck off. Turn truck back on no issues again. I believe this was my first experience with the death wobble.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel was vibrating. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that the failure was due to the driveshaft. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who informed the contact that there needs to be weight in the truck. The contact attached a trailer to the vehicle however, the failure still occurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 89.
