Drivers airbag cover is cracked/splitting, seems to be following the release seam of airbag. I am worried that it will continue, or the airbag will malfunction. Took truck to local FORD dealer and was told that this issue was not covered under my warranty nor restraint system warranty. No warnings, no messages prior.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while making a turn into a parking lot, another vehicle that was speeding at 45 mph, crashed into the passenger side. The contact mentioned the impact was forceful and that the other vehicle had all its air bags deploy. None of the side air bags deployed. Both vehicles were towed from the crash scene. The contact and the other driver were transported by ambulance to the hospital. The contact had pains on the left side of his neck and on his lower back. The contact's shoulder hit the side window and was also sore. A police report was filed. The entire cab of the truck was pushed to the driver's side with the supports snapping the passenger side door and the cab corner were smashed in. The insurance company was still determining if the vehicle would be totaled. The manufacturer told the contact to call the local dealer to see why the airbags did not deploy. The dealer (place motor Inc 193 thompson rd, webster, MA 01570 (508) 943-8012) sent the contact to the auto body shop with the insurance company. The failure mileage was 58,000.
