The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that it was due for a software update and the code was reset. The vehicle was repaired but the check engine warning light illuminated on the way back to the residence. The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer where it was diagnosed that the exhaust system and catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,600.
