My 2017 Ford F350 has experienced heavy steering oscillation (death wobble) starting at approximately 30K miles. The oscillation occurs while driving over 60 mph. The vehicle must be slowed to below 45-50 mph to stop the oscillation. Reducing my speed to 45-50 mph on a highway with speed limits of 75 mph is very dangerous for my family. I have been to the dealership 3 times to resolve this issue and it has not been resolved. After the last visit, I replaced my tires that were not worn past the tread warning bars at the request of the manufacturer and now I have constant shimming of the steering while driving on the highway between 55-70 mph.

Driving over 45 miles per hour and hitting pot hole, extremely rough roads and crossing a bridge joins the front end shakes so violently that I almost lost control of the truck, it keep shaking and getting worse until I was able to slow down below 45 miles per hour. I called dealer he said to replace the steering stabilizer, because parts from Ford are on back order, I did replace with a new stabilizer, but the condition still exists, a 2017 F 350 with 48,00miles O should not have this dangerous problem. This shaking happens on any road over 45 miles per hour

Driving down highway around 75 mph and ran over a rough patch in road and my steering wheel started shaking violently. Whole truck shook. Slowed down to 60 and it stopped. Pulled over to inspect under front end and rear. Couldn't find anything out of place. Got back on H.w. and got back up to 75 and no shaking. Hit another spot on a bridge where pavement connects bridge and it happened again. Took to dealership and they told me it that I needed new tires. Which I did. Replaced with factory michelins. They also put a new steering damper on. Got truck back several days later and while driving under 60 there are no problems. Above 60 the steering starts shaking a bit, but not like the death wobble. At 75 mph it is the same, along with what seems to be a rear end vibration. Called dealership and they said a part was on back order and would call. Haven't heard back in months. So, I called and they said the part is on back order. Having to borrow a car from mother in law to get around. I purchased a warranty that will expire at 60,000 and was told that if I go over, it will still be under the original claim and I would not have to pay the $75 deductible. I will get that in writing hopefully this week. With these vibrations, it know it will wear out other front end parts like ball joints and tie rods that hopefully will be replaced at no cost. Doubtful! this is my 4th Ford truck and have not had any of these problems with other trucks. I have only 57,000 miles and this should be a recall and Ford is running from it. Very disappointed. Please help!

I have 30000 miles on truck. I have taken the truck on long road trips with a truck camper loaded in the back with no problems until now. I have had sever wobbling in the steering wheel which has bin happening more and more frequently. I have 2 small boys and my wife in the truck along with the weight of the truck camper and it is starting to scare me. It happens when driving 60 or more and if I hit a rough patch of some sort. Even the safety strips in the road can send the truck into a violent shaking. It has happened on highways and on mountain roads as well.

Sustained steering wheel oscillation (aka death wobble) while driving down a road at approximately 55 mph I encountered a slightly rough patch of pavement. The steering wheel started to violently shake back and forth until I slowed to approximately 10mph and the oscillations ceased. Ford does have a tsb out on the issue but they are only replacing the steering damper and not looking into the root cause. This has happened several times and the damper has been replaced once as well.

While the vehicle is in motion going straight down a highway at approximately 65 mph or over, and if a small bump in the road is experienced, the front left tire vibrates violently and the steering wheel becomes extremely shaky. This has almost caused my to lose control of the vehicle on multiple separate occasions, and almost causing a collision on one occasion. Slowing the vehicle down seems to cause the vibrations to go away temporarily, however going 40mph is not a fix as that is not a safe speed in a 70mph highway zone. This 2017 F350 was bought brand new from the dealership and has less than 28K miles on it. Extremely disappointed in Ford and extremely scared to have family in the truck in the event of total failure.

At 35000 miles on my 2017 F350 I started getting wobble/vibrations at highway after going over bumps. Talked to Ford dealer and said the is a tsb but parts were two weeks out. Went back and parts were 6 weeks out for a total of 8 weeks. Problem has gotten worse. Last time on interstate I got what I would call death wobble. I had to hit brakes hard to control in heavy traffic. Wobble didn't stop till I slowed from 75 to under 50mph. Truck is stock with stock tire rims. No aftermarket parts. This is a serious safety issue and will end causes wreck or a death

While driving at highway speeds (55mph or above), if hitting potholes, expansion joints, rough patches, etc. Truck steering wheel will start to vibrate and shimmy in a uncontrollable or disconnected manner. The problem is worsened when hitting bumps at highway speeds while in a turn. When this happens the truck can not be steered correctively. Had the issue looked at by Ford dealer 3 times at this point with various fixes including: New steering stabilizer, caster shims and realignment, new track bar and drag link. The issue has not been fixed and I am awaiting another steering stabilizer at this moment. The dealer has been attempting to fix the issue but does not appear to know how. The service advisor stated many trucks have had this same issue starting in 2017. Ford needs to be forced to recall and fix these trucks correctly for safety purposes. (issue started at approximately 15,000 miles and still exists at 39,000 miles)

Took truck to dealer on 11/29/19 for death wobbles above 60mph when hitting bumps or seams in the roadway. Was told by the service department that my steering shock was bad. Problem is the steering shock is on backorder and was on a 6 to 8 week waiting list. Truck is getting worse, becoming unsafe to drive. Called dealership on 01/07/20 to check if they had heard if they had any ideas if the shock was gonna be delivered anytime soon. Was stated that they had just placed an order for another one and that there was still a 6 to 8 week wait on the shock. They stated they had 12 on back order. I have ordered an aftermarket one for now. Hopefully if this is the problem and this will keep from destroying my front end.

Upon starting the vehicle a warning was displayed that said "adaptive steering fault service required". power cycling the vehicle 3 time and each time presented with the same warning and corresponding dash warning indicator. When driving the vehicle the steering ratio was clearly affected. The dash warning light stayed lit at all times during operation of the vehicle. A subsequent restart of the vehicle an hour later caused the same message and indicator light. However after only a couple minutes of driving the indicator went out. The warning and indicator have not returned after several starts in the past 24 hours. Steering seems to have returned to normal operation. Continuing to monitor.

Going down the highway at 70 mph, the vehicle suddenly started shaking violently. I had to immediately slow down and pull over on the shoulder. Once I came to a complete stop, the shaking stopped. After checking all tires, I started going again and did not experience it again. After some research, it appears that there are several complaints regarding this same issue. I bought this used 3 months ago, it has 46,600 miles on the vehicle. As this is not a warranty issue, I will be out of pocket on this.

January 2018 I bought a new 2017 Ford F-350. After driving the truck around 24000 miles it started this horrible shaking and almost lost control. Researched the symptoms referred to as death wobble. The truck has been back to the dealer where I bought it 4 times and they haven't been able to fix it. If you are driving down the road at 60 mph and hit a bump the truck violently shakes back and forth and it real hard to control it. You have to slow down as fast as you can with out using the brakes if you step on the brake the shaking gets more violent. Type in death wobble on google it is hard to believe as common as this problem is that there is not a recall on these trucks. Rolling down the freeway going to houston thanksgiving day it started to the wobble 12 times in 50 mile span each time having to try to steer onto the shoulder and slow down as fast as you can and try to not get run over in the traffic.

In November 2019, at approximately 14K miles on the vehicle while driving on a Nevada freeway at speeds over 50 mph the vehicle unexpectedly and without warning exhibited violent shaking in the front end and steering wheel causing the vehicle to be difficult to control. During this episode, the vehicle was not towing. The violent shaking stopped after slowing the vehicle to approx 30mph. Returning to ca the vehicle did it several times and was sent to the dealership where Ford tsb 18-2268 was performed. The problem seemed to be fixed until recently on 01/01/2020, it returned at 19.8K miles. This time pulling a 40 foot 5th wheel trailer at approx 55 mph on a ca freeway when the front began violently shaking after driving over a small bump in the freeway. The vehicle was difficult to control and maintain within a lane of travel with the trailer attached. The violent shaking only stopped after slowing to approx 30 mph.

The truck experiences 'death wobble' upon hitting certain bumps in the road. The steering wheel along with the whole truck shake uncontrollably until the truck is slowed to well below highway speeds. During the shaking the driver is unable to maintain full directional control of the truck. I have had the truck get into 'death wobble' four times now, every time I have had the issue speeds have been from 65mph to 75 mph.

My truck is experiencing death wobble. When I drive and the truck hits a rough patch or bump in the road the steering creates a wobble so bad that the whole truck shakes. The wheel moves back and forth uncontrollably and I have to slow down to about 40 mph or less for it to stop. On the interstate pulling a 5th wheel camper this is a extremely dangerous condition for both my family and other cars on the road. When the death wobble is happening it scares my family to the point of wanting to get out of the truck. Something is wrong with the steering or alignment of these trucks. I see that Ford has created a couple of service announcements to try to fix this problem but are unsuccessful. Ford has so many service issues to correct this problem that parts are on back order. They are putting a band-aid on the issue instead of trying to fix the problem.

We had a front steering oscillation, aka "death wooble", occur will in a curve at 55 mph after a minor bump. We had to slow to 5 mph before it recovered. This was on a 2 lane road (ga 369) in forsyth co. I 'may' have video, but I an not sure I saved it.
