There are two incidents one Ford diesel high pressure fuel pump disintergrates while driving vehicle and the intercooler hose which is plastic blows up which in both cases causes the vehicle to lose power and stop running. This occured to me while pulling rv on interstate.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-350. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the transmission was shifting hard and was slipping. Additionally, the vehicle was shuddering while the transmission was shifting. An unknown warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to a transmission specialist, where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. The VIN was unavailable.

My vehicle was purchased from Shottenkirk Ford new in 2016. They perform my maintenance regularly. Recently, I experienced a leak and took it in; I had it towed to them. Shottenkirk wanted $1200 because they stated that the water pump needed to be replaced. After replacing the water pump, the leak was worse. Shottenkirk wanted $1200 to replace parts they said needed replacing in the transmission cooling portion. They tried to get me to trade in my vehicle for a new one. I could not afford that. After they did that repair, they said there was still a small leak. I tried to head straight home, but the vehicle would not shift into third gear, stranding me in highway traffic. I had to have the vehicle towed back to them. Now, they state that the transmission needs repair and they want $9000. I stated I could not do this and they said I could trade my 2016 Ford Diesel F350 with 4WD with numerous upgrades for a base-model 2008 Honda Ridgeline 2WD with over 100,000 miles. After researching, I believe Ford and Shottenkirk are well aware of the problems with the manufacturing of this truck, and I believe it needs to be addressed at a national level.

While idling at an intersection my truck will -??lunge-?? forward requiring me to apply excessive braking to prevent the vehicle from going into oncoming traffic. Ford has acknowledged that they have a known service bulletin on this issue related to CEL P054F or SSM45540 which states that the idle control sensor is alerted that the torque converter is malfunctioning. Ford has replaced several 2016 F350 vehicles under warrantee but since mine failed after the 100k warrantee expired, they are unwilling to repair my vehicle under warrantee. Since this failure has such a significant potential human harm, I believe it should be repaired under recall or warrantee to protect the lives of 2016 F350 owners. My dealership has estimated $4,500 for the torque converter replacement and I would like your help to get Ford to acknowledge this defect and repair at no cost to the owner.

While driving on us hwy 395 northbound at buckeye rd in minden nv it felt like the brakes were fading while stopping for red light. While stopped the truck was lurching forward and I had to forcefully step on brake aggressively to keep it from entering intersection. I put it in park while waiting for the green light and as I put in drive it revved up as it past reverse and slowed in neutral and revved again as it hit drive. It continued to lurch and jerk when putting it into gear as I drove it home from carson city nv. Thirty minutes into the drive home the check engine light came on which determined to be P054F (excessive fuel pressure). I called Ford twice and they assured me that the diesel truck was 5/100000, on the powertrain as well as the engine and since the engine light came on I had it towed to capital Ford in carson city nv(nearest dealer). The dealer called me advising that it was a failed torque converter at a owner pay of $4100. I googled the problem and error code to find numerous people with the same problem on the exact same truck combo. 6.7L w/torqshift6 trans. Ford issued a ssm # 45540 for the problem. One owner with the same truck over two months in the Ford shop finally got Ford to fix the problem even though he had 78K on the truck. According to a shop tech at beyer Ford in morristown NJ named keith browning stated on a thread (Ford truck enthusiast) that Ford has known about this problem with the 2016 F-Super Duty and F650-F750 since October of 2015. I have made four calls to Ford since 08-20-20 to 08-24-20 with a case # cas 27293338 and have not received a call or email back. Meanwhile the truck sits at the dealer who stated you will have to work it out with Ford. I will not drive it home as it is not safe. The torque of the diesel engine could over power the brakes launching me into an intersection or vehicle ahead of me..

About 2018 my 2016 F350 diesel gas mileage was good around 16 mpg city and 19mpg hwy I took my truck to Ford for service because the regeneration would keep coming on all the time well they finely said it was a sensor but did nothing to replace anything but they told me Ford company told them to re-flash my computer in my truck because they had a update well my gas mileage went down to 11 mpg city and 9 mpg hwy and I try to take it back and tell me it is no longer under warranty.....so they did something to my fuel mileage which is totally wrong what they did to me because when I bought it the truck the fuel mileage was better so I am loosing money every time I drive it because what the did behind my back our first trip about Oct 2019 we had power loss while driving at around 60 mph where no matter how far I push the gas peddle to the floor nothing happen of flat land while towing and in heavy traffic where speed limit was higher then 60 mph where people were rushing around me and honking there horns and we could not pull over with no power to get over a check engine light on we haven't used this truck much if I did would have more problems so I will not know what will happen this year on the 2nd trip also I have check engine that comes on without towing but goes out after awhile and the dealer told me they cant do anything..I do have a picture of the check engine light on at 20,203 miles and now I only have 20,300 on a 2016 F350 truck right now and it is May 22, 2020 the check engine light was on more then one time but this was the first time I took a picture.

Locking hubs seized up at 17,000 miles. Could only turn them with a wrench. The coating around the hub was bubbling with corrosion from inside. This problem has occurred on my previously owned F250 king ranch. Dealership was aware of this problem and stated it was common.

October 8, 2018 at 3:45 pm heading North bound on us highway 55 at mile marker 191.8 towing a fifth wheel rv, hit rough pavement which caused uncontrollable oscillation of the steering wheel and violent shaking of the entire vehicle. You must slow the vehicle to under under 10 miles an hour to regain control. This same type of situation happen on August 4, 2018, which I returned the vehicle to the Ford dealer who stated they could not find anything wrong, because they could not duplicate the issue.

Uncontrollable steering after driving over expansion joints on the highways or rough roads or streets. Once you drive over these areas, the steering wheel begins to violently shake to the left then the right. The truck is shaking violently and makes it difficult to control the vehicle. You must slow down to almost a stop to stop the violent shaking and regain control of your truck. This has happen two times in a row and I went straight to the Ford dealer who replaced parts. On the second time this happen, I had to cut between the highway workers back blocking truck and the highway workers repairing the road because I could not control the vehicle at the highway speed. It has happen again and the truck is back in at the Ford dealer.

The vehicle was parked on an incline, with the front of the truck pointing up the slope. The transmission was shifted from drive to neutral, the parking brake was applied, and then the transmission was shifted from neutral to park. The vehicle was left unattended, and shortly after that, it rolled 10-15 feet backwards, with the transmission in park, and the parking brake fully applied. It was found stopped on level ground. Upon realizing what happened, I repeated the parking process using the same shift sequence, D-N-P, with the same results. Additionally, I tried parking the truck pointing down a slope. In this situation, the truck rolled forward, and had to be stopped using the brake pedal. I immediately took the truck to the dealer who I bought it from. They could not replicate the problem and took no action to investigate or repair the transmission.

While driving at 60 to 70 miles per hour you get a slight shimmy in the back end. As you progress the shake gets worse. The Ford shop where I live has a rush in rush out work ethic, they don't listen to the one paying the bills. I have tried several shops to find the problem, no results.
