sync mft software update eliminated navigation
A few days after purchasing a used 2015 Ford F-350 Lariat truck with 36,660 miles, I updated the Sync MFT (My Ford Touch) software as recommended by ford. The update completed successfully, but I no longer had navigation after the update. The vehicle came with the $1500 navigation option. Contacted Ford: I was told to take the vehicle to a Ford dealership to have navigation reloaded. Made appointment with West-Herr Ford of Amherst (Getzville, NY). Joe (Red Team, Service) told me he wasn't sure who would have to pay to have navigation reinstalled and to wait for a call from him about who has to pay. Two days later Joe called and told me that Ford will not pay to have navigation reinstalled. I expressed my discontent with the fact that a software update recommend by Ford caused me to loose a $1500 navigation option and that Ford should have to pay for it since their recommended software update caused the problem. In short, a software update recommended by Ford caused my vehicle to loose a $1500 navigation option and now Ford doesn't believe they're responsible.
