The contact owns a 2003 Ford F350. While parked at a shopping center, the contact's vehicle was burglarized and items were stolen from within the passenger compartment. A police report was filed. She researched and discovered how easy it was for her type of vehicle to be burglarized. She also found several people who experienced the same issue. She took the vehicle to the dealer and showed them the black casing around the handle of the passenger seat. The casing was bent, which is how it was burglarized. The dealer stated that they were aware of the failure, but all that could be done would be to replace the damaged lock with a new one. The current and failure mileages were 80,000.
