Since purchased brand new to currently 45000 miles I have had the bench seat back replaced by Ford three times. The problem occured again, but now Ford says I have to pay a portion, 20%, towards another replacement. This is apparently a poor design and I refused. The part in question is the thin metal rods that run vertically in seatback to provide support to the cushion. The rod breaks under normal intended use and pokes through the covering on the back. I currently own three other Ford trucks from 79 to 97 as well as numerous others in the past and have never had this problem
