Bought this vehicle from someone and before finding out about the fuel strap recall for this vehicle. Filled fuel tank and had a very noticeable leak of fuel from tank. When investigated, found the fuel straps were severely corroded and had caused corrosion in the seam of fuel tank, causing the fuel to leak from tank.
The contact owns a 2001 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the vehicle independently decelerated to 30 mph. The contact checked the fuel tank and discovered that the liner of the fuel tank was delaminating and clogging the tank. The dealer was notified and recommended the contact obtain a fiberglass tank. The contact emailed the manufacturer but had not received a response. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were 67,000.
