My 1995 F350 7.3 power stroke will without warning stall. This has happened while idling or driving. Engine can be restarted as though nothing had happened, it may do it again in 1 mile or 10 miles. There is no history of overheating or any related issues that may cause this problem. As of today we are not driving the vehicle as seems too dangerous to drive. Is this related at all to the cam sensor unit or something else in the engine?
The contact owns a 1995 Ford F350. The vehicle caught fire approximately one hour after it was parked on the side of the road. The flames were coming from the hood of the vehicle. The fire department was called to the scene and a report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. There was no property damage. The vehicle was not insured for full coverage. Recently, the contact received a recall notice and he strongly believes that the fire was related to the recall. The current and failure mileages were 100,000. Updated 09/13/08.
