The high pressure fuel pump failed while traveling causing the truck engine to shutdown placing us at risk of a collision when we took the vehicle to ford dealership in Morrilton, AR we were advised that the CP4 pump or high pressure fuel pump failed containing the entire fuel system with metal shavings. The cost to repair this failure is over $13,000 causing us to take out a loan.
A hole has developed in the center of the diesel fuel filter located on the top of the engine. It is spraying fuel all over the top of the engine including the turbo and other high temperature areas.
A 26000 miles the cp4 fuel pump failed and stranded my family (on the busiest road) in Colorado while pulling a trailer. This is a known problem, with multiple manufactures, for more than a few years. Yet here we are!?
