The components in questions is transmission. My sister had borrowed my truck. She put the truck in park and walked back inside to grab an item. Her dog ran out of the house and at that moment she realized the truck was rolling forward. Luckily they was a passenger in the passenger seat that was quick to act and climbed over the middle console and pressed on the brake. There is a video of the insistent. The passenger then confirmed the truck was In park and moved the selector to reverse then park then reverse and park again. Please note the truck was on relatively flat ground. Not a huge incline hill. The truck could have killed the dog or even ran over my sister in her pursuit to get her dog away from the truck. They problem was attempted to be recreated at the moment of the incident but wasn-??t retractable at the time. I will be checking it every time I drive the truck from hear on. No one was hurt so a report wasn-??t filed with the police nor was it taken to the dealer for inspection. There was no warning lights illuminated at the time. However The gear selector did show park. I-??m unable to upload the video just segments of the video. There is a full video.

While driving and coming to stop two times the transmission downshifted rough causing the wrench light to come on saying powertrain/ four-wheel drive fault. Had to have the vehicle towed to my home and make appointment to have vehicle looked at the next week. I have read other forums and many people have been stating the same exact thing has happened to them in the 17+ year super duty-??s and ford has been secretly fixing the issue when customers bring vehicle in for oil changes or service. I also read that the transmission doing this causes metal shavings to end up in the fluid and clog lines. I feel this is a severe issue if I would have been towing, it would have caused an accident.

The contact's husband owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated while her husband was at a stop sign, the transmission seized in 2nd gear and the vehicle failed to respond while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact's husband stated that the check engine warning light illuminated and "wrench" symbol was displayed on the instrument panel. On another occasion, the transmission seized in 7th gear and the vehicle was unable to make it up an overpass. The vehicle inadvertently started to roll back down the overpass. The contact's husband also had alerts on the Ford Pass monitoring tool and received a -??failure with PCM and 2nd gear bypassing during cycle" alerts on his cell phone. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Transmission will not shift and sends you into high rpms just for you to let out and eventually have to stop or put in neutral to sort of reset shifting. It also will, out of nowhere, not move when you hit accelerator. This happened to me several times pulling into traffic. Hit the accelerator to go only to have enough to get you in traffic and no more acceleration. A delay for up to 3-5 seconds. This was the most dangerous aspect of the truck. The other dangerous aspect due to transmission is that when putting in gear the truck would slam you forward. If you didn't have a firm foot on brake you would be slamming into whatever is in front of you. When I say form foot, I mean [XXX] near standing in it. It is in ford shop currently. Not sure what to do with this truck after I get it back. Been in shop 3 weeks without any update to what is wrong. Motor has a nkocking tapping sound like and old school type writer and gets loud at times when ideling and some time really loud anfter driving it fo rw whlle, (diesel engine doesn't sound like that),Ford engineering at factory knows what the problem is but refuses to allow dealership to repair it and replace the parts. Transmission had snecor and valve body go out caused transmission to lock up in 10th gear and stalling out. Dealership replaced the parts with new ones, bu tdid not correct the problem and now stalles and slippes when shifting gears, or sometimes shifts so hard it shakes the truck (F250 diesel). Has a grinding noise when down shifting from 5,4,3 gears. When drivining the truck and go to pass around another vehicle is slips gears are stalles down until it can catch its gear to go happened several times. Vehicle only has 6,500 miles on it and was purchased August 26, 2020 and should not have these issues and problems. Most of all the factory engineers should not deny the dealership to fix and replace what is wrong and cauusing the lound and upnogchis knocking ticking sound even after doing a black box flight recorder to determine where the problem is coming from. They said to keep driving until enough complaints com in to have a recall sent our are until it brakes and goes out. This is a safety hazard to everyone on the road and could possibly cause harm to inisant people, such as myself, my family, and others out on the road. Please have this looked into and help get it taken care of.

When slowing down to a stop slowly the truck bumps/clunks and surges. This is intensified if the transmission is warm. Also when going up a hill under a load there is a gear noise from the rear of the truck.

Vehicle demonstrates repeatable uncommanded acceleration when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. Also demonstrates uncommanded acceleration when engine braking engages. Occasionally vehicle operates at a uncommanded high idle of 1200-1500 RPM vs the normal 600. Mostly happens when slow maneuvering such as in a parking lot or other tight space. It has happened ever since new and it has 5100 miles on it now. Purchasing dealer said it was normal. Others are reporting the same issue in forums online.

The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated that when he starts his truck that when the vehicle switched gears, the transition was rough. There were some times when the vehicle would remain stuck in a certain gear and then have a delay in shifting thus putting a strain on the transmission. When the contact used the vehicle to tow the issue was even worse. The dealer (gene messer Ford lubbock 6000 West 19th, lubbock, tx 79407 (806) 793-2727) stated that issue may be with the PCM and ptm. They were going to check with the manufacturer and get back with the contact. The contact tried to call the manufacturer but the call disconnected. The vehicle remained unrepaired. The dealer recommended that the vehicle can be driven for now but not to tow anything. The failure mileage was 3,900.
