16,000 miles. Experienced a significant shaking wobble after hitting rough patch on bridge at 70 mph. Had to slow almost to a stop for it to subside. Has happened 2 more times in last week. Very scary and dangerous. Someone will die because of this.

On 12/5/21 - at approximately 11:00am, I driving my 2019 Ford F-250 towing a utility trailer and an ATV. My speed at the time was 60 mph, and I have 41,211 miles on the truck. As I started to make a lane change the steering wheel started to violently shake, and the entire front end of the truck started to violently shake as well. It was all I could to do keep from crashing into another vehicle. Fortunately, I was able to slow down and pull off of the roadway before causing a traffic accident. It was an extremely stressful and scary situation! When I arrived home I googled the situation I had experienced to see if there might be an explanation as to why this had occurred. I was shocked to learn that what I had experienced (-??The Death Wobble-??) had been well documented, that Ford had known about the problem for years, and there was a class action lawsuit had been filed. I am making this complaint hoping either a recall is issued or Ford will do the right thing and correct the problem ASAP.

On 11/16/2021, at approx. 1 pm, I merged onto a major interstate freeway from an on-ramp, in a westbound direction. The weather was a clear, sunny day and the roadway surfaces were dry and level. I accelerated to approx. 65 miles-per-hour as I merged onto the far right lane (slow lane), the roadway surface became a little uneven and contained several ripples. My 2019, Ford F-250 Super Duty, 4WD truck began to shake violently in a side-side motion. Fortunately, there wasn't any approaching vehicle traffic behind me for quite some distance. I held firmly to the steering wheel and took my foot off the accelerator. I steered the truck in a diagonal direction (west by northwest) toward the north shoulder of the freeway. As the truck slowed, I applied the brakes gently and intermittently. I reached the shoulder and parked the truck. I inspected the truck for any obvious deficiencies, and I did not see any. I made an appointment with the closest Ford dealership, and on 11/26/2021, the dealership replaced the steering stabilizer. The Ford dealership's service advisor refused my request to give me possession of the replaced stabilizer stating it is Ford's policy to keep parts replaced under a warranty replacement. My truck had approx. 28, 200 miles at the time. No one was injured, and no crash occurred in this incident of, "Sustained Steering Wheel Oscillation." This was the only occurrence of sustained steering wheel oscillation I have experienced.

This is to report another incident of what is now known as the Ford Death Wobble. Despite Ford's denial of this condition existing, it is real. My truck has only 18K miles on it and I experienced the issue three times while driving on the freeway yesterday, Dec 02, 2021. It is terrifying and if one of my daughters or other family member had been driving, I am scare to think what the result might have been. There is much information about this issue on the internet, though I am not sure how much is fact or opinion. What I do know is that it happened to me and it is real and serious. I make this claim in part as documentation in case there is a serious accident related to this obvious defect. I have an appointment with a local dealership tomorrow, Dec 04, 2021 to see if the issue can be fixed. I will make clear to them the issue, the recording of my efforts to have the issue addressed by Ford and the documentation of this issue. I implore the NHTSA to take action to demand Ford address this serious risk. I encourage you to share this complaint with Ford officials. I want to be on public record about this issue.

This 2019 Ford F250 has a classic case of the "Death Wobble". Anytime the vehicle is travelling over 50 mph and hits a bump the truck shakes violently. It shakes bad enough to throw the contents of the door pockets throughout the interior. It is extremely dangerous when this occurs travelling on the crowded freeways of South Florida where I live and work. This is not an unknown condition of Ford trucks. A simple google search produces pages and pages of documented incidents.

Vehicle begins violently shaking as described as the Death Wobble at highway speeds in excess of 50mph, after crossing onto uneven pavement, or driving through a rough patch in roadway, or bridge expansion joint. Steering wheel vibrates back and forth and steering becomes unresponsive and speed must be decreased immediately to regain control of the vehicle.

I was driving my Ford F-250 SuperDuty at 65 mpg on a 4 lane hwy (posted speed 65) when the truck suddenly, without warning, shaking and bouncing violently. The jostling was so violent my head hit the top of the cab and my glasses were bouncing on my face. The steering wheel was shaking but I was able to get to the side of the road and stop. It was the worst, most violent shaking I have ever experienced. I thought my wheels were coming off. My head, neck, and back are sore today from the incident. The truck gave no warning, no warning lights, sounds, etc. to indicate what was about to happen. It shook so hard my vision was doubled. do NOT know what failed or malfunctioned. It appeared to be wheels, steering, suspension? *This put me at grave risk of losing control, overturning, rolling and getting killed. It put others on the highway at risk because I could have caused them to wreck by the actions of my uncontrollable truck. I could have killed myself and others on the highway. have not had the opportunity to take this back to a dealer yet. one has inspected it yet. warning lights, no sounds, no indication of impending problem. Ford should NOT allow this to happen on ANY vehicle. This is a death trap and I am afraid to continue driving it. DEATH TRAP!

While driving from Texarkana Texas to Cleveland Texas today, I experienced three cases of the -??Death Wobble-?? on my 2019 F250 Super Duty truck. This truck has only 22,800 miles on it and has no off road miles on it. This problem occurred when encountering only minor bumps in the road. This is a serious problem for several years now. I also had this problem with a new 2017 model with only 26,000 miles on it. These trucks are not safe to drive and accidents or even deaths may occur if Ford doesn-??t fix their defective design.

On 8 November 2021 and again on 9 November 2021, I experienced what two Ford service dept's called the "Death Wobble". The first occurred under what was potentially lethal circumstances; twisty mountain roads on I-40W in NC. The front end began shaking violently and uncontrollably, with my vehicle surrounded by moving tractor trailer trucks. I managed to come to a violent stop on the shoulder of I-40 without a collision. The second occurred at the I-555/I-270 merge in Missouri. Same circumstances: violent shaking. I braked harshly and at approx 8mph the shaking went away. T took it to a mechanic who crawled underneath and could see nothing amiss. I then drove to the Ford dealer in Kirkwood, MO. The service chief pronounced it the "Death Wobble" but couldn't get me in for two weeks. I limped to Hermann, MO Ford dealer. The service manager pronounced it the "Death Wobble" and took it into the shop immediately. I had the vehicle back by 1000 the next morning, fixed-no charge. He said Ford had an extended warranty out on that/those parts. the steering stabilizer shock(s). It was unclear to me if this was a pair of shocks. I have no receipt because the service dept said it was a warranty issue and the dealership had to submit it to Ford.

While driving down the highway at approximately 60 mph hit a rough area that had just been patched by the highway department and the front end started shaking violently. Could not steer the truck and had to brake to 25mph for the shaking to stop. This has happened four times. The truck was bought in Dec 2019 and has 12,000 miles on it. It has been serviced by the Ford dealership and has all original factory equipment. My safety and others on the highway was put at risk when this happened. No warning at all when it happened. This last event was on Nov 18th 2021.
