In doing research, I experienced 'death wobble.' We were driving down the highway and the truck started to violently shake. This action caused us to go from one lane to another on the freeway. Two hands were needed to maintain control and not go off the road. We stopped and inspected and saw nothing.

Violent front in shaking at higher speeds caused by hitting any small bump in roadway. 'death wobble' I have experienced several incidents at various severity levels, each requiring vehicle to slow to approximately 30 miles per hour. Today's incident occurred on the interstate, hit a small bump going over a bridge, truck began to shake violently causing control loss. The shaking pulled the vehicle across neighboring lane and had to slow to 20-30 mph before shaking stopped. Very unsafe, luckily no vehicle was in vicinity preventing potential accident. Been to dealer twice for this issue. Very concerning & dangerous. Seems to be no fix.

While traveling on interstate I-84, I experienced a wobble and steering issue that threw my vehicle from the right lane into the left lane. Fortunately nobody was in the left lane. I was travelling approximately 70 mph and hit some uneven pavement and small pot holes. My experience was very scary and could have resulted in serious injury or death. My research of the symptoms closely matches the death wobble. This is very disturbing. My truck is currently at the dealer for an alignment. However, further research show that these alignments can make things worse. I strongly urge that this issue be investigated across the country. Somebody is going to die as a result of this issue.

At approx. 7K miles, front tires seemed out of balance. I took the vehicle in to authorized service dealer and they had trouble balancing front wheels and had to balance more than once. At approx. 40K miles the steering wheel and front end began to shake violently when driving over a bump/pothole at speeds of 60 mph and over on highway. The only way to stop the shaking cycle is to slow down to approx. 35 mph. The truck currently has 58K miles and begins the shaking, intermittently, at speeds of 62 mph and greater on highway. I recently took the vehicle to the same authorized dealer and the mechanic's recommendation was to replace the tires and install wheel cams, which are not parts currently on the vehicle from the factory. None of this recommended work or diagnosis was covered by Ford.

Death wobble. Truck started shaking around 55-60 mph and was shaking so bad I could not hold on to steering wheel. It had right over 15,000 miles the first time. If have called dealer ship and had it back in a total of 3 times with nothing but excuses and they say they put a new steering dampner on it. It helped for about 2 days. I have fought it ever since I first noticed it and now it is too the point it does it with the slightest pothole or manhole cover in road. Please someone do something about this before someone gets killed. My truck now has just over the 36,000 mile warranty on it....... so I wasn't smart enough to play the game with the dealership was playing which was just get it passed the warranty period then its my baby. I lost

While driving at highway speeds twice I have hit a bridge with a somewhat rough approach. The steering wheel and the front end of the truck shakes violently. The first time the shaking stopped when I slowed down to 55mph or so. The next time I had to brake aggressively and fade to the side of the road. This will lead to fatal accidents. My tire pressure was set to factory specifications listed on the front door frame. Original tires are well within wear limits and the truck drives straight.

"death wobble". when I hit any rough spots on road, or bridge joints, or road joints at or above 60 mph I get a violent wobble on front of the truck. I have a very difficult time controlling it and have to quickly slow down below approx.40 mph for it to stop. This happens frequently. My truck was serviced for this issue at approx. 20K miles and the issuse subsided for a while but has started happening again with approx 37K miles. This is a very unnerving and dangerous situation when it happens.

Vehicle experienced an uncontrollable front end "wobble" at highway speed. Has occurred 3 times in the past week. 2 of those incidents with young (19 and 24 yr old) drivers at the wheel. Seems to occur coming off a bridge onto highway pavement at 60-65 mph.

While traveling at highway speeds I hit a bump and my truck went into a very violent shake, took my truck to autonation Ford in littleton co, they replaced the steering damper, it had 15,000 miles on it. At 21,000 miles the same thing happened, I again returned to autonation Ford and they told me on the service report that I needed to install after market products and they would not do anything else to my truck. I have since been in contact with the dealership where I purchased the truck, spradley Ford in pueblo co. They informed me it was a camber and caster issue and any Ford dealership knows of the problem and should be able to fix the issue. I have spoken with autonation Ford in littleton and summit Ford in silverthorne co, both have told me they have not heard of any such issue. Today I spoke with 4 wheel parts about my issue, they told me they are back logged with Ford trucks with the same issue and it can be resolved with many part replacements at a cost ranging from $25 to $700, unless the tires need to be replaced due to wear. At this point I feel my truck is unsafe to drive and which direction to take to resolve the issue of the "death wobble"

"death wobble". if you hit any rough spots on road at or above 60 mph you get a violent wobble on front of the truck. You have a very difficult time controlling it. You have to get below 20 mph for it to stop. This happens frequently. Dealership says not a problem.

At approximately 35,500 miles I had the track bar, a new steering box and pitman arm replaced because of wear, at approximately 36,000 the truck developed "death wobble" 3 times over small bumps at about 50mph. I took it immediately back to Ford and they replaced the steering stabilizer. I was driving South on I 81 in the fast lane thinking they fixed and the truck again went into death wobble at approximately 65 -70 mph and had to brake extremely hard down to about 35 mph to get it to stop almost causing a major pile up as there was heavy traffic at that time. After I got back I dropped the truck at Ford again and told him drive it, which he wouldn't, he said he checked all the steering components and they were tight, he said "take to some place that has a better alignment rack, so I did that and paid out of my own pocket for it. It did not fix the problem, I replaced the steering box to a top of the line box out of my own pocket even though it had been replaced. I have not been able to drive my truck safely since Nov. Of 2018 and it is now Jul. 29th 2019. I cant let anyone else drive it for fear of killing an innocent person, even the mechanic that put the second steering box in did the alignment again is scared to drive it because it happened with him after the 2nd replacement box. After looking for the problem and solutions I have found this is a huge issue. If this is not taken care of people are going die, if they have not already. It is very hard to believe there are not deaths and very serious injuries caused by this as I have been thrown into the other lane several times and drop a huge amount of speed very quickly. I paid $60,000 dollars for a brand new truck and now no one can safely drive it, even the mechanic's are scared to drive it. I have had death wobble at least 13 to 15 times from January until now and at speeds from 45 to 70. Please help !!

While driving down the highway at 65 mph I have experienced the death wobble on several occasions while crossing a bridge.the steering wheel about came out of my hands (moving back and forth left to right) and the truck was shaking violently the truck was taken to the dealer where they fixed it. Now less than 10,000 miles later the truck is doing the same thing. This time it was both on the highway again and on a back country road doing 45 mph.this truck is going to kill someone if Ford cannot come up with a solution. I will not let my kids or wife drive this truck! when it happens on the highway, I must slow to about 40 mph to regain control. I would hate for this to happen on wet roads!!!! I am not the only one this is happening to! please help us!

At certain speeds, if you drive over a rough patch in the road, the steering wheel will violently shake, at which time you basically lose control of the vehicle. This can also happen when driving over raised pavement markers. The same thing is true when driving over a bridge with expansion joints. In all cases, the truck's steering can occasionally experience a 'death wobble'. recently, while towing my 5th wheel trailer 'on the highway', I was driving 60 mph down a 6% grade and hit a small rough patch in the road. The steering wheel shook violently. I briefly lost control of the vehicle. At the time, I was traveling 5 mph below the posted speed limit. I was towing a 12,000 pound 5th wheel trailer. I was able to eventually slow the vehicle down to about 40 mph and the wobble subsided. It was the scariest thing I've ever experienced while towing a trailer. The whole time during the wobble, the vehicle was drifting left and right out of control. It happened two more times during the 2 hour trip. It's important to note that it's also happened several times with no trailer attached. I'm not sure what the problem is, but it seems to involve the steering/suspension. The truck has less than 12,000 miles on it.

Pulling a gooseneck trailer with moderate load descending a mountain pass, when applied brakes, front end went into the death wobble and had to come to a near stop. In heavy traffic on level terrain while braking the same thing happens and had to come to a near stop. After unloading, I tried the same braking on level terrain and had no problem. After unhooking the trailer I tried the same braking scenario and had no problem. The vehicle is unsafe to drive hauling a load, which the vehicle I designed for

Steering oscillations aka "death wobble": at 60-65 mph or greater, the steering wheel oscillates violently and the vehicle is difficult to control. The oscillation only stops after lowering speed to about 10 mph. The vehicle has 23,000 miles. This is a repeated problem; the dealer fixed it before at about 12,000 miles, but the problem has returned. The problem occurs multiple times a day and usually at specific areas where there are particular bumps on the highway surface.
