The issue presented itself as the death wobble on our way back from a business trip. We were under warranty mileage at that point and my husband didn't think it was something to park and call a tow truck over. I took the truck the following Monday and it happen 2 times on my way to the first stop. I parked the truck and my husband took it to the repair shop. It was 50 miles over warranty. The shop told us it has a broken front traction bar and also replaced the two parts, which I don't remember what they are called, that hold that bar on each side. FORD would not cover because it was out of warranty by 50 miles! This is not a surprise because Ford has not stood behind anything on either Ford we own and bought at the same time, since we bought them.
Since we had the work done, the death wobble is not happening, however often when driving at about 60 mph or more if I hit an uneven spot, when I am on a turn or come on or off an over pass. The same places the death wobble would happen, it now it feel like for a moment like I am going to loose control. It's like the truck is too light in the front end and not securely on the road and that I could easily loose control. The steering wheel wants to turn like the wheels are not on the road. I looked at the speedometer at one point to see how my speed was in relation to it all and I was going 60mph at this one particular point and I was coming off an overpass on the highway. It makes me feel like if I am not traveling straight on a perfectly flat road without defects at a very low speed I am at a big risk of loosing control of my $60,000. Truck. Got to tell you that don't sit too well with me.
This is a brand new truck, we have had it in the shop for many reasons. There have been a few recalls. Every single issue we have had to stay on Ford, fight Ford, remind Ford, recall and call and call Ford. The take away for us is that Ford makes JUNK, Ford DOESN'T stand behind their product, new or used and we won't be buying Ford ever again when we get rid of the two we have now. My advice to anyone car hunting is hunt anywhere but Ford and save yourself time money and a whole bunch of hair pulling!
