The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving 20 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated, with a message stating to check the engine. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where a diagnostic test was performed. The mechanic stated that the high-pressure pump created metal debris that traveled through the fuel system and the high-pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.
