I was driving on the Freeway, 65 mph, all of sudden, the steering and truck started to shake violently, lost control of the steering wheel, due to the severe shaking, caused traffic behind me to stop suddenly as they noticed something major was going on. It felt like as if I had 4 flat tires, and it felt like a strong earthquake. I had to reduce speed to 10 mph per hour, it stopped shaking and exited the freeway, Never experience anything like this before.

On multiple occasions I have experienced the -??F250 death wobble-??. When reaching speeds of over 60 mph my front end and steering wheel start shaking violently. The entire truck is uncontrollable. It feels like the vehicle is going to shake apart. It is difficult to even hold onto the steering wheel and keep the vehicle going in a straight line. I have to slow down to about 30 mph on an interstate to make it stop, creating a dangerous situation. Sometimes I have to pull off the road. Often, when hitting a bump in the road it gets triggered. I-??ve had it looked at multiple times at ford dealerships and nothing is ever found that is the cause of it. It-??s extremely dangerous and there is no recall for this problem. Thankfully I have managed to keep control of the vehicle. I-??ve experienced this problem for going on 3-5 years. I have replaced the front tires numerous times as that seems to help, though not eliminate the problem. Ford needs to do something about this with a recall or educating their service departments. There are tons of complaints online

At any given moment, if I have the wheel turned a little bit and hit a pot hole or crack in pavement, the drivers wheel will do a horrible wobble until I slam the brakes on and hold tight to the wheel. It will not come out of this wobble until I am at an almost complete stop. This has happened more than 10 times in a few weeks. It has been happening for a few months but is happening more and more now. I have had the tires balanced, changed the shocks, changed stabilizer shock, and replaced the tie rods. None of this has helped. After talking with a mechanic, this is a known Problem with Ford F250-??s. This is very dangerous to not only me and my passengers but other drivers on the road as well when my truck swerves into other lanes and I have to slam my brakes on. I am hoping something can be done before injuries happen. Yesterday was the worst and almost caused an accident.

It started shaking while driving on the highway and I searched up on what was happening after slowing down to 50 Mph or lower and it stated that it was the death wobble where the driver can lose control of the vehicle

Going down the freeway, I ran over a couple of pot holes. The truck began to vibrate and the vibration got so bad I thought I was going to lose control. I was able to slow down and pull off the freeway causing the vibration to disappear, and returned to the freeway without further incident. This is the 6th or 7th time the rattle was felt, although this incident was worse than any other event.

When driving over speeds of 50mph or after driving over bumpy/ wavy roads, the truck starts shaking violently. It was bouncing so hard it almost shook the steering wheel out of my hands. I had to completely stop and pull over off the left side of the interstate. This has happened multiple times.

I was driving 65mph on I16 to get on I75 in Macon, GA. The truck started shaking as if I had blown all four tires. After taking it to a repair shop, I was told it is called a "Ford Death Wobble."

Unknown Death Wobble- The truck starts shaking uncontrollably. I have to slowly stop the truck and pull off of the road each time this happens. Happens more and more often, and I have to drive slow and in the lane closest to the shoulder just in case.

On four seperate occasions while driving at approximately 65 mph, (twice in a turn and twice on a straight section), and after hitting some bumps in the road, the front end started shaking and then quickly went into violent shaking. Each time I had to slow down to a stop. Each time I was concerned that I was going to crash. The most recent date (and the most violent shaking) is listed below.

On two occasions was traveling on the interstate and the truck began to violently shake uncontrollably. Had to slow way down almost causing myself to be rear-ended on one occasion and the other time it shifted the truck in the other lane. Both situations caused me to have NO CONTROL of my vehicle. My wife is afraid for my safety and others while driving on the interstate because of this issue. There is no warning before it happens.

The contact owned a 2015 Ford F-250. The contact stated their husband was driving at 70 mph, the vehicle was in cruise control and the driver attempted to get out of cruise control by depressing on the brakes, however, the cruise control did not disengage and the vehicle began to accelerate. The driver attempted to manually turn off the cruise control from the steering wheel but it failed and continued to accelerate. The contact attempted shifting out of the drive gear shift position and taking the key out of the ignition to turn off the vehicle but the vehicle still was accelerating in speed which caused the vehicle to crash and hit the rear end of the vehicle in front. Both of the driver's feet were on the brake pedal where excessive force was used but the vehicle continued to accelerate leading to a crash. The contact mentioned that the vehicle independently increased in speed up to 100 MPH or more during the failure. The vehicle was finally able to stop once it crashed into a guard rail. The front driver's side tire and door were detached from the vehicle. The air bags did deploy. No warning lights illuminated from the vehicle. The driver sustained injuries for a fractured left kneecap from the dashboard collapsing and bruises on their left leg and chest. The contact sustained injuries as well with a broken left big toe on their foot and bruises on their leg and upper chest. Medical treatment was at the scene and the ambulance did take the contact and the driver to a local hospital. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a salvage yard where it was deemed a total loss. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximate 172,000.

Emissions control, Ford needs to fix this by the known issues. In 2018 Ford extended the warranty period on their def heaters. The warranty included 2011, 2012 F250 thru F550. The warranty also included 2013, 2014, 2015 F 450 and F 550 but excluded the F250 and F 350. This is a particular problem with the 2015 model year also. Doing research- I can find a number of people who are having this exact issue with the 2015 F 250 and F 350. All of these vehicles use the exact same 6.7 power stroke diesel motor and I would think the def systems are similar if not identical. Ford should be required to include the 2013, 2014, and 2015 F 250 and F 350 in the warranty they extended to 11 years. My truck currently has 29,845 miles.

The first time it occurred the truck was five years old I was driving on an interstate highway at highway speed, passed over an expansion joint of a bridge, entire truck began to shake uncontrollably, I thought a had blown a tire, but as I slowed to pull to the side of the road, the truck "smoothed out" and I was able to continue on my way. However it happened again two more times that trip, each at highway speed (55-75) and would be "triggered" by small bumps in the road. I took it to a local garage they rotated the tires, did a front end alignment and replaced the steering dampener. Problem continued to reoccur. Has been back to a different garage 4 additional times: Tie rod, drag link, track bar joints/bushings, shocks, all have been replaced, however while at highway speeds small bumps in the road continue to induce uncontrollable front end shaking. So far I have paid just under $2500, the problem continues and my mechanic is unsure what is left to try to correct the problem. Online search reveals this to be the "Ford death wobble".

Emissions control, I copied this from another because it is my exact same problem. Ford needs to fix this by the known issues. I took it to the dealer to get fixed under what I thought was a tsb, I was wrong. Wanted to charge $281 just to pull the code even though I already did and told them that this was my exact problem. In 2018 Ford extended the warranty period on their def heaters. The warrant included 2011, 2012 F250 thru F550. The warrant also included 2013, 2014, 2015 F 450 and F 550 but excluded the F250 and F 350. See attached SF91 from driver/witness. Also: 1. is there a fire report? the memo stated the fd was notified. A. fd was notified and the fd did show up to put the fire out. I have spoken with the deputy director with the fd aboard cp and the emergency data system cannot be accessed nationwide. They are doing report manually at this time. No fire dept report can be accessed at this time. 2. events preceding the incident. Was this the first attempt(s) to start the vehicle that day, or was this subsequent to being used earlier (it appears it was the first attempt)" did the vehicle exhibit any "hard-to-start" tendencies before this incident? have any operators noticed anything wrong or unusual; smells, warning lights, sounds, rough idling/running, etc. Previous to this incident" a. yes this was their first attempt, there were no previous issues indicated by the unit. Local sop states any issues with ntv, swrft will be notified of the issues. Block 53 page 2 of the SF91 there were two (2) attempts to start the vehicle before the fire. I also attached SF94 statement of witness indicating there were no previous issues with the truck. 3. was there any after-market equipment installed? a. there is no after-market equipment install in this vehicle.
