My Ford truck typically experiences the death wobble when traveling more than 50 mph and at least one of the tires hits a groove or bump in the road. The only way I know to control the violent shaking is by quickly reducing speed, which is very dangerous in traffic
I have experienced the Ford death wobble on my 1997 F350 and my 2014 F250. At 45 mph plus, hitting sometimes imperceptible bumps can cause the suspension and steering to develop a very violent vibration. I almost lose control and have to brake very hard to get it to stop. I am afraid I am going to crash or be hit from behind when braking. Ford made some suspension repairs under my extended warranty, but these repairs made the problem much worse. I took the truck back and they blamed my tires, saying they are almost worn out. I complained that I should have several thousand more miles on these tires and there was either a design problem or something broken. They refuse to accept responsibility and told me there is no other choice but to change my tires. I put new tires on for $1,300 and I still have the problem. It is less severe and happens less frequently, but it is still definitely there. I am afraid to drive my truck but have no choice.
Front end death wobble. New tie rods- stabilizer-shocks tires and still does it when hitting bridge end dam- chug hole-bump in road or just rough road. What is the cure? Chevy. Or GMC does not have this problem.
When driving at highway speeds and hit a bump in road or going over a bridge and driving over the bridge joints the front wheels/suspension go into an almost uncontrollable bounce/wobble. Best way I can describe the issues is as if your tires were over inflated and the shock absorbers were missing. Vehicle has 48,000 miles and has been doing this occasionally for approximately the last 20,000 miles. This is a 2nd vehicle and gets driven mostly on highway. When googling whether Ford F-250's have shock absorber issues, I ran into many reports of this wobble issue.
When the truck hits a bridge expansion joint or a pot hole it's shakes violently losing control and pulls the steering wheel out of your hands. The dealership claims there is no problem and has never heard of such a thing.

Death wobble, safety issues, lost braking and limited steering at 65 mph.. so far Ford dealer in freeport il. Told me the only thing I can do is trade it in. Ford would not offer any fix for the problem. Truck has had no modification or any changes in configuration. So far I have changed two sets of brakes, two sets of tires and over 2K in steering links and rod along with steering stabilizer.
My truck is at the dealership for the 3rd time for having the 'death wobble'. first time they replaced ball joints. Second time they replaced a bar and ball joints. It wasn't long till I felt the shimmy again. At this point I am afraid to drive it because I carpool my 3 grandkids around on a daily basis and I don't want to risk their lives. You never know when the death wobble is going to happen but it is usually when you are driving 55-70 mph and hit a slight bump in the road. The wobble is so severe you can hardly keep control. You have to hit your brakes and decrease your speed until the wobbling stops. This could prove to be fatal in heavy traffic. If you google the death wobble there is a lot of information on it and it has happened numerous times for several years. I can not understand why there has not been a recall on this. I dropped my vehicle off at the dealership yesterday and as of tonight I have not been notified by them. Can anyone tell me what would be a permanent repair for this problem? if there is not one then Ford should have to buy back the vehicle and destroy it to prevent severe injury or death to someone. I love my truck but now it has proven to be unreliable and possibly dangerous.
At high speeds hitting pot holes or bridge decks, front end wobbles uncontrollably. It's referred to as (death wobble) need to hit the brakes hard to stop it. Very dangerous. Ford knows about the problem and is turning a blind eye.crashing on the freeway at those speeds could be catastrophic. Some vehicles have as little as 20000 miles on them, mine has 51000. Just put new tires, front shots and steering stabilizer on it. Still have the problem. Please google (2014 Ford F250 Super Duty front end issues). Us consumers are paying big, big money for these vehicles. $700000 in some cases. I paid 40000 and I'm afraid to drive it. All I want is for Ford to face the fact's and fix it. Before some gets killed! I wrote to william Ford at Ford Motor Company a week ago but have not heard back. I can't stress to you enough what a dangerous issue this is. I would love to take my truck to the Ford Motor Company and have jim hackett drive it, then I would be fixed. Just a side note, there was a consumer in silsbe Texas that noted the service writer at silsbe Ford said that she doesn't know why Ford doesn't fix this because it is such a big problem. In closing please, please, please look into this issue and hold Ford feet to the fire. Thank you.
Death wobble- several times when traveling at speeds of 65mph or higher, the front of the vehicle begins to shutter and shake violently until the vehicle is slowed down to below 40 mph. Ball joints, steering damper, shocks, and tires have all been replaced however, the vehicle continues to perform dangerously at highway speeds.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-250. While driving various high speeds, the vehicle exhibited the "death wobble". the contact stated that the vehicle shook violently while driving. Autonation Ford torrance in torrance, California was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
