After buying our new truck with only 200 mi on within 10-12 months white smoke would pour out and the exhaust cleaner wasn't even activated and all vehicles behind me would stay as far behind me as possible, it looked as tho my truck was burning with the amount of smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. Called the dealership service dept to inquire about the smoke and I was told i"it was the exhaust cleaning process and it was doing what it was supposed to". We serviced out truck on or before it was due like clockwork at the dealership and only at the dealership where it was purchased and with all the 19 point inspections along with whatever else they told us was needed to maintain the warranty never once did they say there was a problem with the exhaust. In 2018 the engine symbol came on and the owners manual said when this symbol is illuminated the vehicle will shut down and will result in loss of power while driving. Took it in to the dealership and was told the replacement part with labor was 1200.00 and if this part fails in order to keep driving the truck the exhaust cleaning replacement would be 5000.00. First and far most why didn't the service dept know when I first called to inquire about the white smoke pouring out wasn't normal, second on the routine service and warranty maintenance servicing why didn't someone catch it? These trucks are 50k-70k, we are now shopping for a new truck and the trade in or resale is not even close to what the Ford salesmen said these trucks have and this is only one of the major issues. It's criminal!!
